We are in times of crisis, job losses in the thousands and, unfortunately, nobody is really safe. If this situation affects you, you are able to rise quickly in the saddle, apply for new positions and succeed in winning that job that you will pass through. This fact can be quite long as you have been looking for a job, it is possible that you feel rusty, you lost the hand. I must say that I personally spend interviews from time to time to keep my reflexes and alerts keep me in shape, I recommend this practice, even if you’re happy with your current job. The purpose of this article is to prepare you for interviews. I drew on my personal experiences to develop a list of most popular questions that can be raised. Nobody likes the interview process. You must be at your best; the interview gives you the opportunity to sell yourself, and not everyone who has the verve and self-confidence to put forward.

However it is quite possible that some issues overlap. Whether in Britain, the United States or Canada, the questions do not really seem to change over time. Moreover, the expected answers are generally the same. Simply add your personal touch, of course.

Remember, control the time of the interview is an art, and if you prepare you put at least 85% of luck on your side.

Tell me about yourself

This question is one I find the less obvious. It is easy for the caller and lets you work 100% on the arms. The person in front of you have plenty of time to judge whether you are structured, organized, articulate, while sipping his coffee. It is probably the most common question, because it also serves as an introduction to the interview. Miss this door and the interview will start on the wrong basis. Be careful not to tell your life. You do not need any explanation from your birth to now! Talk instead of your diploma or your journey to school, your career and your current situation, in that order. Stay brief and focused.

Tell me what you know [company name]

Always do your homework before you go to an interview. Whatever position you are applying, as Vice President of Marketing or the clerk in the mailroom, you should know the salient facts about the company for which you want to work. This is the kind of research, substantive work that will make you look like someone who is ready, who is genuinely interested in the company and the answer you differentiate from the rest of the group.

Why do you work for [company name]?

This issue is directly related to the one above. Any research you’ve done on the company in question you should have led to the conclusion that you want to work there. After all, you have been selected for the interview! Include your career goals, explain that you suspect that your company will grow and improve yourself.

What would you bring to [company name]?

The assumption here is that you have applied for this position because you have lots of experience in the field, and if so, is your chance to discuss it. However, if you’re interested in the job because you want to change career direction, you want to try something different or you need a job really soon, this question will allow you to highlight your related experiences, this which will bring depth to your application.

If your former colleagues work here, what would they say about you?

The key here is to stay positive and show the best of yourself. A good way to present his response is to “quote” your colleagues, like this: They say that I am a “hard worker” or even better, “Many of my colleagues have always said that I was a person of team, which can always count I am also very quick to resolve problems.”

Where else have you applied?

This question may seem like a trick question, but you can easily turn it to your advantage. No way to answer that it’s nobody besides you! The answer you give that will help you prove that you are in demand. Be honest and mention a few other companies, without going into detail. Your partner simply wants confirmation that you are serious and that you keep your options open.

How do you react when you’re under pressure?

There are several ways to answer this question, but they should all be positive. You can work well under pressure, you can be happy under pressure, and you may also prefer to work under pressure. Do not provide details as an example! Better still do a bit more than what is requested (not excessively). If you make a face and say you collapse in a situation where the pressure is very high, you have every chance of ending your interview.

What motivates you to do a good job?

The answer is not money, even if so. You must prove that you are motivated by a life of hard and honest work. You want to get recognition for work well done. You want to become better at your job. You want to help others or be a leader in your field. This question is one of my favorite as a candidate because it is easy. Just give the answers that the caller wants to hear. And to which you belong, of course!

What is your greatest strength?

Here’s your chance to shine. You are invited to explain why you’re an excellent candidate for this job! You can be someone who works well under pressure, a great source of motivation for others, someone who has an incredible potential to solve problems quickly or someone very rigorous. The caller is looking for strengths related to work, make sure to stay focused on the issue in a professional setting.

What is your greatest weakness?

If you’re completely honest, you may regret the answer you give. Questions strengths and weaknesses are those that emerge consistently in an interview. If you say you have no weaknesses, obviously you’re lying and lose points (in addition to employment). This is an issue on which politicians excellent. Their responses are similar to “I’m perhaps too committed to my work and I do not spend enough time with my family.”Make sure you keep your feet on the ground because you might as well give a false image of you. If you ask this question, give a small defect-related work and you work hard to improve. Example: “I have already said that I tend to focus on detail and lacking in vision, so now I spend time each day to monitor the progress of the project as a whole to see where we are.
